Unitarian Universalism is a Justice-centered Religion.  We continue our tradition of Conscience and Action.

Faith in Action Events and Activities

We Stand for Equality

• The congregation voted to support Marriage Equality and worked to defeat the Knight initiative in 1999.   
• An Interweave chapter meets at our church. 
• We have been affirmed as a Welcoming Congregation by the UUA. 

Peace – Conscience and Dialogue

• After vigorous and respectful consideration of the diverse
  issues, the congregation voted on February 2, 2003 to  oppose the Iraq war.
• The Peace Umbrella works for peace and hosts periodic film series on justice issues.
• We are again hosting classes on Non-Violent Communication.

Economic Justice

• Our congregation helped spearhead the creation of the Opportunity Center and Stevenson House, affordable housing for homeless and seniors.
• Two UUCPA Choir Concerts in December will benefit the Opportunity Center.
• Our Local Organizing Committee of Peninsula Interfaith Action is working now for affordable housing and health care.
• Join our Community Outreach Ministries to directly help people outside our church walls.

Environmental Action

• The Rainforest Action Network showcases our children who have supported their work since 2000.
• UUCPA has committed to completing the steps for Green Sanctuary accreditation.  We have made significant progress towards improving our buildings and purchases for sustainablilty.
• We are concerned with the Ethical Treatment of Animals and food choices that affect our spirits and our planet.

The UU Legislative Ministry of California is working on health care as well as marriage equality and water democracy.
