From Rev. Eva

Rev. Eva Českava

There are no adequate words to express my gratitude to you all. I’m leaving for Salt Lake City and General Assembly in a few hours and meeting leaders from my new congregation there. Change is always the order of the day for interim ministers, making our lives exciting as well as challenging.

I thank you, members and friends of UUCPA, for letting me be part of your beloved community for two years. I have enjoyed the beauty and benefits of living in Northern California, of course. I have also felt privileged that you have shared yourselves with me: your joys and fears, your wisdom (particularly from the elders), your dreams, and especially your children. You must know how very special you are, individually and collectively.

Again I ask you to share that unique quality that only Unitarian Universalist congregations have: a faith free of creed and dogma, filled with love and service. Sharing really takes courage, you know, for things will change when you are inclusive and welcome the stranger. Many in this world are hungry for our message, and we have a responsibility to share that gift. Think of the wonderful change that occurred when YOU became a part of UUCPA.

Thank you, thank you! Until we meet again. Hasta la vista, vaya con dios.
