Temporarily Yours

We’ve officially begun our adventure in ministry together. While Amy is on sabbatical, Rev. Dan and I will be tending the ministry of the church, making sure Sunday services, pastoral care, governance and administration, and all the other tasks of ministry continue to get done. The title of this column, “Temporarily Yours,” is a reminder that while I’m only with you for six months, during that time, I am your minister. My half-time schedule allows me to preach twice a month, keep office hours each week, and provide pastoral care and support.

I will be in the office every Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 2:30 pm. I’ll be in at other times as well, but because I am commuting from Oakland, those times will vary according to the meetings I need to attend. It’s probably best to schedule an appointment, since when I’m in the office things can get hectic. You can schedule a meeting with me by calling the church (I’ll be using Amy’s office and extension) or emailing me at revsean@uucpa.org.

If you have questions about the sabbatical, I hope you’ll pick up and read a copy of the sabbatical brochure that is available in the office (and was sent to all members.) It will tell you a little about Amy’s plan for her time away, our Sunday service schedule, and the sabbatical committee. It also provides a list of contacts for the people who can help if questions arise.
