Ministerial Intern Lucy Bunch
Lucy Bunch grew up in Hayward, California where her parents owned a small business. She graduated from Oregon State University with a BA in Economics, and from Cornell University with a MS in Agricultural Economics. Lucy lived on the East Cost for several years after completing her Master’s degree, working in Washington D.C. and Albany, New York. She returned to California in 1987. She has worked at the University of California Davis as an administrator for over 20 years.
As a child she visited the Starr King UU church in Hayward as the guest of a neighborhood friend. That visit planted a seed that bore fruit 20 years later in 1989. Her first visit to the congregation in Sacramento felt like a homecoming and she embraced Unitarian Universalism. She has been an active leader in her congregation for the past 18 years. Heeding her call to ministry she entered Starr King School for the Ministry in the Fall of 2008 and will graduate in May 2011. Lucy will serve UUCPA part-time through June of 2012.
Lucy is married to Nancy, her partner of 17 years. When she is not at UUCPA you can find her singing with her choral group, gardening, hiking, reading, or enjoying the company of her animal companions.
