Stewards Honor Roll

June 2006

Our Steward of the Month for June is Karen Saltzman.

Karen has provided steady leadership of the Lights! Camera! Activism! film series. Thank you for providing this venue for social change to us and to the community at large, and living out our principal of promoting peace, liberty and justice for all. Thank you, Karen!

We have also recently recognized two very special stewards of our vision:

• Karen Plass, who inspired our first Youth Service Award with her years of help in the bookstore, cooking and kitchen service, and leading worship.

• Bob Schwaar, who has been our Treasurer for 8+ years and guided us through many difficult choices and therefore is a Lifetime Steward. Thank you, Bob!

Tomas Moran for his work on the peace and justice film series … Lynn Grant for bringing art to our lobby every month for years … Catherine O'Brien for taking up the torch Lynn has passed … New Orleans Book Drive helpers Susan Kerby, Julie Cockroft, Dora Fishman, Tom Thomas and Jenise Fuess … Kathy Swartz for making collages for Hilda and Pari's 10th anniversary gifts … Tim Berry for taking pictures and giving us tech support on our digital camera … the Pagan Roots group for the Maypole Dance … The 30 people who came to the PIA healthcare action … Jim Brice who was at church almost daily working on the garden by the Fireside Room and keeping the lovely displays of flowers blooming all around our campus … Pat Thomas and Janet Buelow for taking on more and learning PageMaker so we can continue to have an excellent Order of Service … Florence Haas, office angel … Janet Buelow, Rick Porter and Michael Plass for installing new hardware and software in Nancy's office … Nancy Neff for the fair elections presentation and the Environmental Volunteers Video … Rae Bell for skillfully shepherding the Social Justice Committee through challenges … Elton Bell for two new “instant” bulletin boards – especially after having an aching back … Ken Hardy, Bill McFadden and Ila Keiper who put in much extra effort to get the BBQs off to a good start (58 attendees!) on Memorial Day … Philip Hodge for coodinating the summer Elder Journey program … and the CRE snack team: Lauri Anderson (coordinator), Michael & Claudia Siegler, Susan & Phil Evard, Michele Kasper, Kathy Swartz, Lisa Paulo and Karen Gibson.
