Stewards Honor Roll
April 2008
Our Steward of the Month is Lauri Anderson for her co-leadership
of Family Chapel (with Rev. Eva.) Lauri leads many
of our Family Chapel services, introducing our children to
worship that is abundantly loving, energetic, creative, and spirit-filled. Family
Chapel will continue, but Lauri is here for only a little while longer, as the
Andersons are moving to Houston. Whatever your age, don't miss a chance to
attend a service led by Lauri!
Also honored this month:
- Sara Newcomb, Ila Keiper, and Susan Plass for getting Caring and Sharing notes out to the entire congregation each week.
- The Nominating Committee
(Sara Newcomb, Barbara Schonborn, Jenise Fuess, Ray Schuster, and Bill
Landauer) for bequeathing UUCPA a strong leadership for the coming years.
- Jack Thomas for coordinating the Information Table volunteers for lo these
many months (and Pauline Farmer for taking over from him).
- Philip Hodge, Jean Nelson, and Misao Sakamoto for facilitating recent Elder
Journey sessions, and Sylvia Whitcher for helping publicize this wonderful
semi-monthly gathering.
- Dena McLerran for suggesting that the rainbow and Earth flags fly whenever
the church is open, not just on Sundays, and John Pierce of Buildings and
Grounds, with Jeff Cashdollar and Howard Milligan of the staff for promptly
turning this lovely suggestion into reality.
- Kristi Iverson, Catherine O’Brien, Bill Landauer, and Bobbie Geiger for the
leadership in getting a new Covenant Group started.
- Ben Hammett, Ralph Johnson, Hershey Julien, Jan Lawrence, Betty Seike and Joanne Wells, our new Elder Council. As Rev. Kurt explains in convening
them, “They are available to offer their best thinking to the professional ministry
and the Board of Trustees on an ‘advice only’ basis regarding any issues they
are requested to consider. The Council members desire no decision-making
power – nor will they accept any – but out of their deep commitment to the
congregation, they seek, rather, to offer the vantage point of their considerable
life experience about issues facing its life.”
Thank you all for your dedicated stewardship of our congregation!
