Stewards Honor Roll

April 2011

Our Steward of the Month for April is Wynne Furth for her spirited, loving, community-building leadership of our canvass campaign. We not only reached ambitious levels of generosity, but had a great time doing it. Thank you, Wynne!

On the Honor Roll this month:

Bob Greene for taking over the cartridge-recycling drive, and of course Hershey Julien for pioneering it, making it happen for years, and handing it off so it would continue after his move down the Peninsula.

Elsa Schafer (now our UUSC representative!) for leading an outstanding team in creating a great UUSC weekend.

Ray Schuster, Dick Duda, and Jack Owicki for energetic publicity work.

Janet Buelow and Fred Buelow for hosting dinner with Bill Schulz; and also Rae Bell, Richard Cassel, Nancy Neff, Dave Weber and Kathy Parmentier.

For April’s Second Sunday lunch, thank you to Dora Fishman, Kay Pauling, Anna Pignaloni, Marilyn Stoddard, and Emma Tan; Sunday cooks David Chen, Edie Keating, Andrew MacKay, Michael Plass, Cara Silver and Chris Synerholm; clean-up crew Robert Neff, Kathy Parmentier, and Dan Power; and of course coordinator Susan Plass.

Canvass callers Donna Aronson, Elton Bell, Richard Cassel, Tamara Colby, Joan Fox, Jenise Fuess, Bob Green, Martha Green, Edie Keating, Edith Jacobi, Bob McLean, Alan Miller, Nancy Neff, Susan Owicki, Kathy Parmentier, Terry Passarotti, Elsa Schaefer, Karen Skold, Kathy Swartz, Pat Thomas, Dave Weber, Marilyn Stoddard, Roy King, and Sven Thesen, and Barbara Schonborn, Armand Schwartz, and Karen Plass for their beautiful canvass testimonials in Sunday services.

Rae Bell for touching up the Main Hall woodwork, not only this month but almost every Work Day and plenty of days in between.

Janet Negley for convening the Parent Journey.

Susan Owicki for coordinating our hosting of the UULM Re-Engage weekend, and those who provided food, lodging, and transportation of speakers: Sally Ahnger, Phyllis Cassel, Geetha Rao, Elsa Schafer and Mayo Tsuzuki.

Sally Probst for all those times she hasn’t felt well enough to come to church but has come anyway.

Diane Meier-Phelps for once again organizing our Bass Lake weekend.

Dick Duda for his leadership of the Investments Committee, and the other members of this committee that keeps our investments growing and attends to their social responsibility as well: Elton Bell, John Pierce, Bob Schwaar and Fred Buelow.

Andrew Mackay for designing the flyer for the UULM health care event, and Richard Cassel for doing sound that evening.

Fred Hawley for helping gather up the hymnals after the 2nd service almost every week, without fanfare.

Edie Keating, Terry Passarotti, Edith Drewek, Roy King, and Bryce Perry for helping to lead Thursday evening services, and Terry Passarotti, Edie Keating, Beth Nord, and Armand Schwartz for providing dinner.

Jack Owicki for wonderful leadership of the Membership Committee’s Visitor and Data team.

Laura Coleman, Lila Mack, Alexandria Myers, Michael Plass, Susan Plass, Gemma Shastri, Libby Swartz, Celia Frahn, Eva Weigand-Whittier and Isaac Weigand-Whittier for assisting with Flower Communion.

Coming of Age mentors Andrea Chambers, Richard Heydt, Robert Neff, Geetha Rao, and James Sperry.
