Circle the number that best describes your reaction to the paintings of Pablo Picasso:
Did that? Well, the chances are that you'll feel the same way about Picasso's first (and I believe only) play, DESIRE.
When: Monday September 12, 2005 at 7:00
Where: FIRESIDE ROOM
What: DESIRE by Pablo Picasso
HANDS ACROSS THE SEA by Noel Coward
Who: UUCPA Thespians
Why: To contrast two very different short plays
We'll take a short break with a cookie and a cuppa and a chance to tell each other what we think about having been Bigfoot, Skinny Anguish, Tart, or others of Picasso's surreal characters. Then we will assume new roles such as Lady Maureen Gilpin (aka Piggy), The Honorable Clare Wedderburn, Commander Peter Gilpin, R. N., Major Gosling (aka Bogey), and other assorted members of the British upper class circa 1935. As always, Coward can be counted on to provide lots of smiles and chuckles, even if there are no belly laughs.
With 11 roles in the first play and 9 in the second, everyone will get a chance to read. Join us as we transition from the relaxation of summer to the challenge of another year. Send me an email: thespians-info@uucpa.org or call me if you'd like more information. Let me know you're coming - or just show up.
