When: Monday February 13 at 7:00
Where: ROOM 10
What: EL JARDIN & RANCHO HOLLYWOOD by Carlos Morton
Who: UUCPA Thespians
Why: To get an unusual slant on biblical and California history
EL JARDIN continues:
Adan: You've been talking to ese serpent again, eh?
Eva: Si pues, so what!
Adan: I catch that snake in the grass around here again, I'm
gonna wring it around your neck.
Eva: But he has such a nice slick body. He's
soooo sssslimmmmy!
Adan: Eva, you're going to get us evicted from El Jardin.
Eva: Oh, let Him kick us out - see if he can find
two other suckers to take our place!
Adan: You want to give up El Jardin?
The rent is free, the air is clean
We got no barrios, got no machines
No one gets rich, no one eats crumbs
We don't need money and we don't need bombs
We got peace, we got love
We got Dios, we got enough
. . . .
But first we will read RANCHO GRANDE, "A California Dream" that
starts out as a grade B movie and morphs into a view of California history
that you won't find in gringo textbooks. It's all great fun, and you
might actually learn something, too.
Send me an email thespians-info@uucpa.org
call me, or just show up on Monday, February 13.
UUCPA Thespians

ps. Please note that Room 10 is now our REGULAR meeting room.
