Announcing New Interim Housing Community in Mountain View

With support from the State of California’s Project HomeKey, LifeMoves, the parent organization of Hotel de Zink and the Opportunity Center, has partnered with the City of Mountain View to construct an interim housing community that will offer extensive support services to help homeless families and individuals return to stable housing. The project involves the construction of high-quality, rapid-build modular housing units, designed for families and seniors, that will serve approximately 124 people in 100 private rooms. The site is located on one-acre at 2566 Leghorn Street. With residents expected to stay between 90-180 days, LifeMoves Mountain View is expected to serve more than half of Mountain View’s current homeless population in the first year alone. The community is scheduled to welcome its first residents in late December/early January. LifeMoves is currently publicizing this project and has asked UUCPA members to support it by speaking positively about it to others when the occasion arises.

For more details and photos of the units being installed, please see the documents provided by LifeMoves on the Action Council Team Drive at  Justice Projects/Housing.
