DESCRIPTION:Dismantling White Supremacy: Action for Fair Chance Housing  \n
 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nUUCPA's Dismantling White Supremacy group meets on the
  2nd Tuesday of the month. This Tuesday\, October 8\, 2024\, we'll learn a
 bout an opportunity to have a significant effect on housing justice in Pal
 o Alto. The Human Relations Commission (HRC) will be considering a Fair Ch
 ance Housing ordinance at its meeting this Thursday. Usually\, only landlo
 rds address the HRC at such meetings\, so our advocacy as community member
 s will be particularly impactful.\n\nAmy will distill the information from
  the ten-page staff report and give some background on how this proposal c
 an help reverse a form of systemic racism that is embedded in our housing 
 laws.\n\nThen we'll prepare statements to send to the HRC before Thursday 
 or\, for those who are available and willing\, to share aloud with the HRC
  during their meeting. As members of a Palo Alto congregation\, we are all
  stakeholders whose opinions are welcome by the HRC. You need not live in 
 Palo Alto!\n\n\n\nIf you would like to attend this session and are not sub
