 h Community  \n\n\n\n\n This session will be based on a paper that Rev. D
 an Harper presented at the “Sacred Texts\, Human Contexts” conference 
 in May 2016\, an interfaith conference organized by progressive Muslim\, C
 hristian\, and Jewish scholars to explore ways to improve interfaith under
 standing and cooperation. The 2016 conference focused on interfaith respon
 ses to the current environmental crisis.\n\nWhen we look at organized reli
 gion’s response to the contemporary environmental crisis\, to what exten
 t should we focus on sacred texts? The answer will depend on the specific 
 situation of a local faith community\, worldwide changes in organized reli
 gion\, and other influences. Dan suggests that sacred texts have only a sm
