DESCRIPTION:Healing the Divide  \nThis month's topic: The Future of the Hea
 ling the Divide Group. Please join us on March 6 for this important discus
 sion.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHealing the Divide is a UUCPA group that formed after t
 he 2016 election to ask: 1) what do we not understand about others with mo
 re conservative viewpoints\, and 2) what can we learn that will help us co
 mmunicate even across wide differences in belief.\n\nTo that end\, we have
  read and discussed numerous books and articles and participated in group 
 activities such as Braver-Angels-style conversations.  Personally\, I hav
 e found that those activities went a long way in answering our basic quest
 ions.\n\nHowever\, there are signs that this effort is producing diminishi
 ng returns.   Attendance at our meetings has gone down\, and not many pe
 ople are suggesting discussion topics.  It seems time to consider whethe
 r the Healing the Divide meetings should continue (possibly with a differe
 nt focus or format) or should draw to a close.   If you would like to sh
 are your thoughts before the meeting\, particularly on how we might restru
 cture the group\, please email the group at healing-the-divide@uucpa.org
