 ern religious texts\, they think of the Christian Bible. But Western cultu
 re offers so much more than just the Christian Bible\, including many text
 s that predate Christianity. I’ll give a brief intro to some of these te
 xts\, including how to find many of them for free online. We’ll talk abo
 ut what constitutes a religious text — surely the Talmud counts as relig
 ious text\, but what about Henry Thoreau? or Sartre? or Sappho? Then we’
 ll dive into some Western religious texts\, and talk about what we find th
