 will be about the CARE FIRST Campaign\, which is working for community dri
 ven alternatives to policing and incarceration. It will give us a good bac
 kground on historical and current connections between the work of racial j
 ustice and the desperate need to re-imagine our understanding and methods 
 of public safety for all! Right now the focus of CARE FIRST is on establis
 hing a direct line to TRUST\, an alternative to 911 to provide accessible\
 , transparent\, non-police crisis response in Santa Clara County. The TRUS
 T program is a new 24/7 non-police crisis response program for urgent ment
 al health and substance use situations.\n\nThis Teach-In is hosted by Mult
 ifaith Voices for Peace &amp\; Justice (MVPJ) and Showing Up for Racial Ju
 stice (SURJ). The many co-sponsors include the UUCPA Action Council.\n\nTh
