The sessions are on Saturdays\ , 4-5. All are wide open and you are welcome to come weekly or once in a w hile.\nThe reading for this session: Saturday October 17\n\n\n\nThe sudden disappearance of a routine memory: I cannot remember the name and even th e atmosphere of a nearby street I walk on regularly. I can see it as I loo k down through leafless trees from the window in my high-rise apartment\, but I no longer know what I’m looking at. It is a blank\, a gap\n\nI sit and wait. Inwardly\, I move around the gap left by the missing word\, loo k at the shape of the lacuna. And often\, it’s as if I am looking at the edge of a pond or lake. A profusion of unsought images grows around these gaps. A pond in summer\, green\, thick water\, a cloud of insects hoverin g\, golden in the late afternoon light\, the smell of plant rot. The stree t name does not return\, but the street itself does. And then a name emerg es. Something brown. A color. A tree. Walnut—Walnut Street.\n\nDouglas P enick (2024\, Fall). Tricycle\, 34(1).\n\n\nThe participants over the years have found that the approach we take\, and the respectful\, affectionate community of inquirers in whic h we read and converse\, are as important as the reading itself. While man y small groups begin with a check-in\, with a session only an hour long\, Resonant Reading jumps right in to the conversation. Those who are frequen tly in the group get to know each other very well this way\, and those who are new will soon find they are among friends.\n\n\n\nFacilitators use a light hand\, posting the reading in the chat and calling on whoever's Zoom hand is up.
