SUMMARY:Resonant Reading (Saturday)-Spring Scene-Du Fu
DESCRIPTION:Resonant Reading (Saturday)-Spring Scene-Du Fu An exploration
 of ideas\, feelings\, and our life experiences\, using a different short r
eading as our springboard each time. The sessions are on Saturdays\, 4-5\,
and on Wednesdays\, 12-1. All are wide open and you are welcome to come t
wice a week or once in a while.\n\nThe participants over the years have fo
und that the approach we take\, and the respectful\, affectionate communit
y of inquirers in which we read and converse\, are as important as the rea
ding itself. While many small groups begin with a check-in\, with a sessio
n only an hour long\, Resonant Reading jumps right in to the conversation.
Those who are frequently in the group get to know each other very well th
is way\, and those who are new will soon find they are among friends.\n\n\
n\nFacilitators use a light hand\, posting the reading in the chat and cal
ling on whoever's Zoom hand is up. Suggestions for readings* come from gro
up members\, who also take turns facilitating\, if they want to try that r
ole.\n\nThe reading for this session: Saturday (9/6 at 4PM)\n\nThe text is
the Chinese poet Du Fu's "Spring scene"\nThe nation is broken\, the mount
ains and rivers remain.\nThe city turns to spring\, grass and trees grow t
 hick.\nFeeling the moment\, blossoms shed tears.\nFearing the separation\,
birds startle my heart.\nThe beacons have burnt for three months.\nA lett
er from home is worth ten-thousand pieces of gold.\nMy white hair thins fr
 om scratching.\nAnd can't hold a cap or pin.\n\n\n\nHow to join:\n\n Join

Text Reading." That proved misleading--for one thing\, more often than no
t our sources are secular--but it's worth describing the qualities of a sa
cred text\, which we still look for in the readings we choose. It is any r
eading that helps us to:\n\n connect to something of supreme importance t
o us\n feel more connected to other beings or to the universe\n feel mor
e intensely alive\n align our lives with our values\,\n perceive or feel
more deeply\n be more fully and authentically ourselves.\n
