The sessions are on Saturd ays\, 4-5\, and on Wednesdays\, 12-1. All are wide open and you are welcom e to come twice a week or once in a while.\n\nThe participants over the ye ars have found that the approach we take\, and the respectful\, affectiona te community of inquirers in which we read and converse\, are as important as the reading itself. While many small groups begin with a check-in\, wi th a session only an hour long\, Resonant Reading jumps right in to the co nversation. Those who are frequently in the group get to know each other v ery well this way\, and those who are new will soon find they are among fr iends.\n\n\n\nFacilitators use a light hand\, posting the reading in the c hat and calling on whoever's Zoom hand is up. Suggestions for readings* co me from group members\, who also take turns facilitating\, if they want to try that role.\nThe reading for this session: Saturday (1/10 at 4PM)\n\nO ne man sees with indifference a leaf fall\; another with the vision of Tho reau invokes the whole of that nostalgic world which we call autumn. One m an sees a red fox running through a shaft of sunlight and lifts a rifle\; another lays a restraining hand upon his companion’s arm and says\, “P lease. There goes the last wild gaiety in the world. Let it live\, let it run.” This is the role of the alchemist\, the true\, if sometimes inarti culate artist. He transmutes the cricket’s song in an autumn night to an aching void in the heart\; snowflakes become the flying years. And when\, as archaeologist\, he lifts from the encrusting earth those forgotten obj ects Thoreau called “fossil thoughts [arrowheads]\,” he is giving dept h and tragedy and catharsis to the one great drama that concerns us most\, the supreme mystery\, man.
