SUMMARY:Resonant Reading (Saturday)-Ask Me-Stafford
DESCRIPTION:Resonant Reading (Saturday)-Ask Me-Stafford An exploration of
ideas\, feelings\, and our life experiences\, using a different short read
ing as our springboard each time. The sessions are on Saturdays\, 4-5\, an
d on Wednesdays\, 12-1. All are wide open and you are welcome to come twic
e a week or once in a while.\n\nThe participants over the years have found
that the approach we take\, and the respectful\, affectionate community o
f inquirers in which we read and converse\, are as important as the readin
g itself. While many small groups begin with a check-in\, with a session o
nly an hour long\, Resonant Reading jumps right in to the conversation. Th
ose who are frequently in the group get to know each other very well this
way\, and those who are new will soon find they are among friends.\n\n\n\n
Facilitators use a light hand\, posting the reading in the chat and callin
g on whoever's Zoom hand is up. Suggestions for readings* come from group
members\, who also take turns facilitating\, if they want to try that role
.\nThe reading for this session: Saturday (2/14 at 4PM)\n\nAsk Me\nSome ti
me when the river is ice ask me\nmistakes I have made. Ask me whether\nwha
t I have done is my life. Others\nhave come in their slow way into\nmy tho
ught\, and some have tried to help\nor to hurt: ask me what difference\nth
eir strongest love or hate has made.\n\nI will listen to what you say.\nYo
u and I can turn and look\nat the silent river and wait. We know\nthe curr
ent is there\, hidden\; and there\nare comings and goings from miles away\
nthat hold the stillness exactly before us.\nWhat the river says\, that is
  what I say.\n--William Stafford\n\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n\nHow to join:

ed "Sacred Text Reading." That proved misleading--for one thing\, more oft
en than not our sources are secular--but it's worth describing the qualiti
es of a sacred text\, which we still look for in the readings we choose. I
t is any reading that helps us to:\n\n connect to something of supreme im
portance to us\n feel more connected to other beings or to the universe\n
feel more intensely alive\n align our lives with our values\,\n percei
ve or feel more deeply\n be more fully and authentically ourselves.\n
