The sessions are on Saturda ys\, 4-5\, and on Wednesdays\, 12-1. All are wide open and you are welcome to come twice a week or once in a while.\n\nThe reading for this session: Wednesday\, July 8\, 2026\n\nIs there an infinite beyond us? Is that infi nite there\, inherent\, permanent\; necessarily substantial\, since it is infinite\; and because\, if it lacked matter it would be bounded\; necessa rily intelligent\, since it is infinite\, and because\, if it lacked intel ligence\, it would end there?\n\nDoes this infinite awaken in us the idea of essence\, while we can attribute to ourselves only the idea of existenc e? In other terms\, is it not the absolute\, of which we are only the rela tive?\n\nAt the same time that there is an infinite without us\, is there not an infinite within us? Are not these two infinites (what an alarming p lural!) superposed\, the one upon the other?\n\nIs not this second infinit e\, so to speak\, subjacent to the first? Is it not the latter’s mirror\ , reflection\, echo\, an abyss which is concentric with another abyss? Is this second infinity intelligent also? Does it think? Does it love? Does i t will?\n\nIf these two infinities are intelligent\, of them has a will pr inciple\, and there is an _I_ in the upper infinity as there is an _I_ in the lower infinity. The _I_ below is the soul\; the _I_ on high is God.\n\ nTo place the infinity here below in contact\, by the medium of thought\,\ nwith the infinity on high\, is called praying.\n\n—Second reading for u s from Les Miserables\, Book Seventh—Parenthesis\, Victor Hugo\n\nThe pa rticipants over the years have found that the approach we take\, and the r espectful\, affectionate community of inquirers in which we read and conve rse\, are as important as the reading itself. While many small groups begi n with a check-in\, with a session only an hour long\, Resonant Reading ju mps right in to the conversation. Those who are frequently in the group ge t to know each other very well this way\, and those who are new will soon find they are among friends.\n\n\n\nFacilitators use a light hand\, postin g the reading in the chat and calling on whoever's Zoom hand is up.
