DESCRIPTION:Resonant Reading (Wednesday)-Heaven and Hell— Huxley  An expl
 oration of ideas\, feelings\, and our life experiences\, using a different
  short reading as our springboard each time. The sessions are on Saturdays
 \, 4-5\, and on Wednesdays\, 12-1. All are wide open and you are welcome t
 o come twice a week or once in a while.\n\n\n\n\nThe reading for this sess
 ion: Wednesday\, August 12th\n\nIn spite of a Natural History that was not
 hing but a set of drearily moralistic symbols\, in the teeth of a theology
  which\, instead of regarding words as the signs of things\, treated thing
 s and events as the signs of biblical or Aristotelian words\, our ancestor
 s remained relatively sane. And they achieved this feat by periodically es
 caping from the stifling prison of their bumptiously rationalistic philoso
 phy\, their anthropomorphic\, authoritarian and non-experimental science\,
  their all too articulate religion\, into non-verbal\, other than human wo
 rlds inhabited by their instincts\, by the visionary fauna of their mind's
  antipodes and\, beyond and yet within all the rest\, by the indwelling Sp
 irit.\n—Aldous Huxley from Heaven and Hell\n\n\n\n\nThe participants ove
 r the years have found that the approach we take\, and the respectful\, af
 fectionate community of inquirers in which we read and converse\, are as i
 mportant as the reading itself. While many small groups begin with a check
 -in\, with a session only an hour long\, Resonant Reading jumps right in t
 o the conversation. Those who are frequently in the group get to know each
  other very well this way\, and those who are new will soon find they are 
 among friends.\n\n\n\nFacilitators use a light hand\, posting the reading 
 in the chat and calling on whoever's Zoom hand is up. Suggestions for read
 ings* come from group members\, who also take turns facilitating\, if they
