DESCRIPTION:Sacred Harp All-Day Singing  Join the democratic and participat
 ory American song tradition of Sacred Harp singing. NPR calls it “full-b
 ody singing\,” Rolling Stone describes the sound as a “soaring magnifi
 cence\,” and KALW says it’s a powerful “communal experience.” Come
  to join about 50 other singers\, ranging from rank beginners to professio
 nal musicians\, as we spend the day singing in four-part harmony from The 
 Sacred Harp\, a tune book that traces its publishing history to before the
  Civil War.\n\nBeginners are always welcome\, and we’ll loan you a copy 
 of The Sacred Harp. Come for an hour\, or spend the whole day. Since great
  food is part of the Sacred Harp singing tradition\, be sure to plan your 
 day so that you join us from 12-1 pm for “dinner-on-the-grounds\,” a p
 otluck lunch with stick-to-the-ribs food and yummy desserts.\n\nFind out m
