DESCRIPTION:Sacred Harp All-Day Singing  &nbsp\;\n\nJoin the democratic and
  participatory American song tradition of Sacred Harp singing. NPR calls i
 t “full-body singing\,” Rolling Stone describes the sound as a “soar
 ing magnificence\,” and KALW says it’s a powerful “communal experien
 ce.” Come join about 50 other singers\, ranging from rank beginners to p
 rofessional musicians\, as we spend the day singing in four part harmony f
 rom The Sacred Harp\, a tune book that traces its publishing history to be
 fore the Civil War.\n\nBeginners are always welcome\, and we’ll loan you
  a copy of The Sacred Harp. Come for an hour\, or spend the whole day. Sin
 ce great food is part of the Sacred Harp singing tradition\, be sure to pl
 an your day so that you join us from 12-1 pm for “dinner-on-the-grounds\
 ,” a potluck lunch with stick-to-the-ribs food and yummy desserts.\n\n&n
