DESCRIPTION:Sacred Text Reading Group  \n\n\nA weekly online sacred text re
 ading group with Amy\n\nUsing a spiritual-practice approach\, in each sess
 ion we will explore a different brief scriptural text in depth. The aims o
 f the sessions are educational (learning something about the texts and tra
 ditions)\, spiritual/moral (discovering what the texts ask of us)\, and co
 mmunity-building (getting to know each other better). Amy will have a vers
 ion of the text available to share\; “bring” your own if you like. All
  are welcome\, as are your suggestions of future texts. About half our rea
 dings so far have been those suggested by group members.\n\nOur text for S
 aturday\, September 11\, the 20th anniversary of the attacks that killed 3
 \,000 people\, is a bit different than usual. Each person is invited to br
 ing one line\, or at most two consecutive lines\, from the poem "110 Stori
 es\," by John M. Ford\, and those lines will be our text. Each line is a s
 tory.\n\n\n110 Stories\n\n\nWith an event like September 11\, we feel a st
 rong need to relive and recount our memories\, even 20 years later. That i
 s important\, but we will not be sharing them in our session. Instead\, we
  will focus on the spiritual teachings we receive\, now\, from these texts
  and what they evoke. If you do not have the chance to read the poem and m
 ake a selection before the session\, no worries. Without a doubt\, you wil
 l find richness in a line that someone else brought\, and in the subsequen
 t conversation.\n\n\nIf you’re new (either to UUCPA or to the group) and
  would like to get acquainted\, Amy and whoever else can manage it will be
  there ten minutes early and will also stay afterwards–we’d love to ha
