DESCRIPTION:Sacred Text Reading Group (Saturday)  \n\n\nA twice-weekly onli
 ne sacred text reading group. We meet on Saturdays\, 4-5\, and on Wednesda
 ys\, 12-1. All are wide open and you are welcome!\n\nUsing a spiritual-pra
 ctice approach\, in each session we will explore a different brief scriptu
 ral text in depth. The aims of the sessions are educational (learning some
 thing about the texts and traditions)\, spiritual/moral (discovering what 
 the texts ask of us)\, and community-building (getting to know each other 
 better). Our practice usually follows this version of Lectio Divina.\n\nTh
 e facilitator will have a version of the text available to share\; “brin
 g” your own if you like. All are welcome\, as are your suggestions of fu
 ture texts. Group members also take turns facilitating\, if they want to t
 ry that role.\n\n\nOur text for Saturday\, January 15 is by Friedrich Niet
 zsche\, from Ecce Homo.\nMy formula for greatness in a human being is amor
  fati: that one wants nothing to be different\, not forward\, not backward
 \, not in all eternity. Not merely bear what is necessary\, still less con
 ceal it—all idealism is mendacity in the face of what is necessary—but
  love it.\nHe writes more about this concept in section 276 of The Gay Sci
 ence (p. 186)\, and it is bound up with his idea of "eternal return\," pr
 oposed in section 341 (same link\, p. 223).\n\n\n\n\nTo have check-in time

 es early. And all are welcome to stay ten minutes after as well\, for more
