SUMMARY:Sacred Text Reading Group (Saturday)
DESCRIPTION:Sacred Text Reading Group (Saturday)  \n\n\nA twice-weekly onli
 ne sacred text reading group. We meet on Saturdays\, 4-5\, and on Wednesda
 ys\, 12-1. All are wide open and you are welcome!\n\nUsing a spiritual-pra
 ctice approach\, in each session we will explore a different brief scriptu
 ral text in depth. The aims of the sessions are educational (learning some
 thing about the texts and traditions)\, spiritual/moral (discovering what 
 the texts ask of us)\, and community-building (getting to know each other 
 better). Our practice usually follows this version of Lectio Divina.\n\nTh
 e facilitator will have a version of the text available to share\; “brin
 g” your own if you like. All are welcome\, as are your suggestions of fu
 ture texts. Group members also take turns facilitating\, if they want to t
 ry that role.\n\n\nOur text for Saturday\, February 12\, 2022 is "Song of 
 Kabir\," translated by Rabindranath Tagore and adapted by Elizabeth Alexan
 der. Kabir Das was a 15th-century Indian poet whose mystical writings have
  been influential upon Hindus\, Sikhs\, and Muslims . . . and Unitarian Un
 iversalists such as composer Elizabeth Alexander\, who set these words to 
 music.\n\nYou are in us\, and we are in You\,\nEach being distinct\, yet e
 ver united.\nYou are the tree\, the seed\, and the cell\;\nYou are the flo
 wer\, the fruit\, and the shade\;\nYou are the sun\, the light\, and the l
 ighted\;\nYou are the manifold form of infinite space\;\nYou are the breat
 h\, the word\, and the meaning\;\nYou are the limit and the limitless.\nYo
 u are the Immanent Mind in us\;\nYou are the Supreme Soul within the soul.
