DESCRIPTION:Sacred Text Reading Group (Saturday)  \n\n\nA twice-weekly onli
 ne sacred text reading group. We meet on Saturdays\, 4-5\, and on Wednesda
 ys\, 12-1. All are wide open and you are welcome!\n\nUsing a spiritual-pra
 ctice approach\, in each session we will explore a different brief scriptu
 ral text in depth. The aims of the sessions are educational (learning some
 thing about the texts and traditions)\, spiritual/moral (discovering what 
 the texts ask of us)\, and community-building (getting to know each other 
 better). Our practice usually follows this version of Lectio Divina.\n\n\n
 Our text for Saturday\, March 5\, 2022 is Psalm 57\, here given in the Mod
 ern English Version. Just about any other English translation you can imag
 ine is here.\n\n\n\nPsalm 57\nFor the Music Director. To the melody of “
 Do Not Destroy.” A Miktam of David when he fled from Saul in the cave.\n
 1 Be gracious to me\, O God\, be gracious to me!\n    For my soul see
 ks refuge in You\;\nin the shadow of Your wings I will make my refuge\,\n
     until the ruinous storm passes by.\n2 I will cry to God Most High
 \,\n    to God who vindicates me.\n3 He will send from heaven and sav
 e me\n    from the taunt of the one who crushes me. Selah\n    God
  will send forth His mercy and His truth.\n4 My soul is among lions\,\n 
    and I lie among the sons of men who blaze like fire\,\nwhose teeth a
 re spears and arrows\,\n    and their tongue a sharp sword.\n5 Be exa
 lted\, O God\, above the heavens\;\n    may Your glory be above all th
 e earth.\n6 They have prepared a net for my steps\;\n    my soul is b

 ilitator will have a version of the text available to share\; “bring” 
 your own if you like. All are welcome\, as are your suggestions of future 
 texts. Group members also take turns facilitating\, if they want to try th

 rief orientation\, arrive ten minutes early. And all are welcome to stay t
