DESCRIPTION:Sacred Text Reading Group (Saturday)  \n\n\nA twice-weekly onli
 ne sacred text reading group. We meet on Saturdays\, 4-5\, and on Wednesda
 ys\, 12-1. All are wide open and you are welcome!\n\nUsing a spiritual-pra
 ctice approach\, in each session we will explore a different brief scriptu
 ral text in depth. The aims of the sessions are educational (learning some
 thing about the texts and traditions)\, spiritual/moral (discovering what 
 the texts ask of us)\, and community-building (getting to know each other 
 better). Our practice usually follows this version of Lectio Divina.\n\nTh
 e facilitator will have a version of the text available to share\; “brin
 g” your own if you like. All are welcome\, as are your suggestions of fu
 ture texts. Group members also take turns facilitating\, if they want to t
 ry that role.\n\n\nOur text for Saturday\, April 9\, is from Jerome's "Com
 mentary on Galatians." Jerome was an early Christian theologian (c. 345 - 
 420 CE) in Dalmatia (a region now occupied by parts of Albania\, Bosnia an
 d Herzegovina\, Croatia\, Kosovo\, Montenegro\, and Serbia).\nThe blessed 
 John the Evangelist lived in Ephesus until extreme old age. His disciples 
 could barely carry him to church and he could not muster the voice to spea
 k many words. During individual gatherings he usually said nothing but\, "
 Little children\, love one another." The disciples and brothers in attenda
 nce\, annoyed because they always heard the same words\, finally said\, "T
 eacher\, why do you always say this?" He replied with a line worthy of Joh
 n: "Because it is the Lord's commandment and if it alone is kept\, it is s
 ufficient."\nTo have check-in time\, or if you are new and would like a br
 ief orientation\, arrive ten minutes early. And all are welcome to stay te
