DESCRIPTION:Sacred Text Reading Group (Saturday)  \n\n\nA twice-weekly onli
 ne sacred text reading group. We meet on Saturdays\, 4-5\, and on Wednesda
 ys\, 12-1. All are wide open and you are welcome!\n\nUsing a spiritual-pra
 ctice approach\, in each session we will explore a different brief scriptu
 ral text in depth. The aims of the sessions are educational (learning some
 thing about the texts and traditions)\, spiritual/moral (discovering what 
 the texts ask of us)\, and community-building (getting to know each other 
 better). Our practice usually follows this version of Lectio Divina.\n\nTh
 e facilitator will have a version of the text available to share\; “brin
 g” your own if you like. All are welcome\, as are your suggestions of fu
 ture texts. Group members also take turns facilitating\, if they want to t
 ry that role.\n\n\nOn Saturday\, May 7\, 2022\, our text is from The Open 
 Door (1957)\, by Helen Keller:\n\n\nSecurity is mostly a superstition. It 
 does not exist in nature\, nor do the children of men as a whole experienc
 e it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. 
 Life is either a daring adventure\, or nothing.\n\n\nTo have check-in time
 \, or if you are new and would like a brief orientation\, arrive ten minut
 es early. And all are welcome to stay ten minutes after as well\, for more
