DESCRIPTION:Sacred Text Reading Group (Saturday)  \n\n\nA twice-weekly onli
 ne sacred text reading group. We meet on Saturdays\, 4-5\, and on Wednesda
 ys\, 12-1. All are wide open and you are welcome!\n\nUsing a spiritual-pra
 ctice approach\, in each session we will explore a different brief scriptu
 ral text in depth. The aims of the sessions are educational (learning some
 thing about the texts and traditions)\, spiritual/moral (discovering what 
 the texts ask of us)\, and community-building (getting to know each other 
 better). Our practice usually follows this version of Lectio Divina.\n\nTh
 e facilitator will have a version of the text available to share\; “brin
 g” your own if you like. All are welcome\, as are your suggestions of fu
 ture texts. Group members also take turns facilitating\, if they want to t
 ry that role.\n\n\nOur text for Saturday\, May 21\, 2022 is "The Garland\,
 " by U.S. American poet Billy Collins.\nI would like to be laid to rest in
  a big tomb topped by a stone figure of an angel\, who appears to have lan
 ded there in order to sob forevermore\,\nher face buried in her bent arm\,
 \none folded wing hanging by her side.\n\nThen\, whenever I found the time
  to visit my own grave\,\nafter approaching with slow\, respectful steps\,
 \nI would place around her rough neck\nthe garland of wildflowers that I k
 nitted\,\nthen run back to the car\, laughing and immortal!\nTo have check
 -in time\, or if you are new and would like a brief orientation\, arrive t
 en minutes early. And all are welcome to stay ten minutes after as well\,
