DESCRIPTION:Sacred Text Reading Group  \n\nA weekly online sacred text read
 ing group with Reverend Amy\n\nUsing a spiritual-practice approach\, in ea
 ch session we will explore a different brief scriptural text in depth. The
  aims of the sessions are educational (learning something about the texts 
 and traditions)\, spiritual/moral (discovering what the texts ask of us)\,
  and community-building (getting to know each other better). I'll have a v
 ersion of the text available to share\; "bring" your own if you like. All 
 are welcome\, as are your suggestions of future texts.\n\n\nOn Saturday\, 
 October 3\, our text is from the Analects of Kǒng Fūzǐ (Confucius)\, 9.
 11:\n\n\nWith a great sigh\, Yan Hui lamented\, "The more I look up at it 
 the higher it seems\; the more I delve into it\, the harder it becomes. Ca
 tching a glimpse of it before me\, I then find it suddenly at my back.\n"T
 he Master is skilled at gradually leading me on\, step by step. He broaden
 s me with culture and restrains me with the rites\, so that even if I want
 ed to give up I could not. Having exhausted all of my strength\, it seems 
 there is still something left\, looming up ahead of me. Though I desire to
  follow it\, there seems to be no way through."\n\nAnother version:\n\n\n\
 nYan Yuan sighed in admiration saying: “Looking up to it\, it gets highe
 r. Boring into it\, it gets harder. I see it in front\, and suddenly it is
  behind me. My master skillfully guides his students a step at a time. He 
 has broadened me with literature\, disciplined me with propriety. I want t
 o give up\, but I can't. I have exhausted my ability\, yet it seems as if 
 there is something rising up in front of me. I want to follow it\, but the
 re is no way.”\n\n\nAnother version:\n\n\n\nWith a deep sigh\, Yan Hui s
 aid\, “The more I look up at it\, the higher it gets. The more I drill i
 nto it\, the harder it gets. I catch a glimpse of it in front of me\, and
