SUMMARY:Sacred Text Reading Group (Seneca)
DESCRIPTION:Sacred Text Reading Group (Seneca)  \n\n\nA twice-weekly online
  sacred text reading group. We meet on Saturdays\, 4-5\, and on Wednesdays
 \, 12-1. All are wide open and you are welcome!\n\nUsing a spiritual-pract
 ice approach\, in each session we will explore a different brief scriptura
 l text in depth. The aims of the sessions are educational (learning someth
 ing about the texts and traditions)\, spiritual/moral (discovering what th
 e texts ask of us)\, and community-building (getting to know each other be
 tter). Our practice usually follows this version of Lectio Divina.\n\nAmy 
 will have a version of the text available to share\; “bring” your own 
 if you like. All are welcome\, as are your suggestions of future texts. Gr
 oup members also take turns facilitating\, if they want to try that role.\
 n\n\nOur text for Wednesday\, October 27\, 2021 is from the Stoic philosop
 her Seneca (from Letter 78: On the Healing Power of the Mind)\n\nThere is 
 no sorrow in the world\, when we have escaped from the fear of death.\n\n\
