DESCRIPTION:Sacred Text Reading Group (hooks)  \n\n\nA twice-weekly online 
 sacred text reading group. We meet on Saturdays\, 4-5\, and on Wednesdays\
 , 12-1. All are wide open and you are welcome!\n\nUsing a spiritual-practi
 ce approach\, in each session we will explore a different brief scriptural
  text in depth. The aims of the sessions are educational (learning somethi
 ng about the texts and traditions)\, spiritual/moral (discovering what the
  texts ask of us)\, and community-building (getting to know each other bet
 ter). Our practice usually follows this version of Lectio Divina.\n\nAmy w
 ill have a version of the text available to share\; “bring” your own i
 f you like. All are welcome\, as are your suggestions of future texts. Gro
 up members also take turns facilitating\, if they want to try that role.\n
 \n\n\n\n\nOur text for Wednesday\, January 5\, 2022\, is from All About Lo
 ve: New Visions by bell hooks\, the US American poet\, essayist\, and acti
 vist who died last month at the age of 69.\n\n\n\n\n\nBut many of us seek 
 community solely to escape the fear of being alone. Knowing how to be soli
 tary is central to the art of loving. When we can be alone\, we can be wit
 h others without using them as a means of escape.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFor check-i
 n / getting-acquainted time\, and for those who are new and want a brief o
 rientation to the practice\, the room will be open ten minutes before and
