 ssion Group was meeting via Zoom before it was cool! Lovers of science fic
 tion and fantasy\, at UUCPA and beyond\, have been getting together online
  to talk about books\, movies\, and television episodes chosen by the grou
 p\, every other month since early 2019. Past books include The Broken Eart
 h Trilogy (N. K. Jemisin)\, The Moon is a Harsh Mistress (Robert Heinlein)
 \, Parable of the Sower (Octavia Butler)\, The Left Hand of Darkness (Ursu
 la K. Le Guin)\, Red Moon (Kim Stanley Robinson)\; past television and mov
 ies include Arrival\, Blink (Doctor Who)\, Serenity and The Train Job (Fi
 refly)\, and The Day the Earth Stood Still.\n\nWe'll discuss the novel The
  Saint of Bright Doors\, by Vajra Chandrasekera\n\nFrom Amazon:\n“Fetter
  was raised to kill\, honed as a knife to cut down his sainted father. Thi
 s gave him plenty to talk about in therapy.\n\nHe walked among invisible p
 owers: devils and anti-gods that mock the mortal form. He learned a lethal
  catechism\, lost his shadow\, and gained a habit for secrecy. After a blo
 od-soaked childhood\, Fetter escaped his rural hometown for the big city\,
  and fell into a broader world where divine destinies are a dime a dozen.\
 n\nEverything in Luriat is more than it seems. Group therapy is recruitmen
 t for a revolutionary cadre. Junk email hints at the arrival of a god. Eve
