Join our guests from Showing Up for Racial Justice at Sacred Heart (SURJ) to learn and discuss how racism has shaped our criminal legal system and what it might mean to make our community truly safe for everyone. If you’ve been horrified in the last few years by news stories about policing and incarceration, this is a chance to learn about a local campaign and take action NOW to stop the county from building a $390 million new jail. Showing Up for Racial Justice organizes white people and other people with privilege in solidarity with people-of-color led accountability partners working to dismantle systemic racism here in Santa Clara County. SURJ is part of the Care First, Jails Last coalition led by Silicon Valley De-Bug.
