SUMMARY:Sunday School for children and youth age 3-4 and grades 6-8
DESCRIPTION:Sunday School for children and youth age 3-4 and grades 6-8  Su
 nday Programs for Families\n\nBecause we believe in learning by doing\, an
  most important part of our religious education is participation\, with al
 l ages\, in the first part of regular worship services. Then during Sunday
  school\, young people learn and play with people their own age. Feel free
  to ask Sunday school teachers what they did this week\, and if you would 
 like to review any of the curriculum materials we are using\, please call 
 Dan Harper.\n\n9:30 Sunday morning\, late August through early March\n\n 
 	Child care (for infants\, toddlers\, and young children) — Loving and s
 afe care with our professional child care providers. Children who are over
  3 and toilet-trained may go to Red class (if your 3-year-old is not yet t
 oilet-trained\, they may be in the class as long as you are on call via ce
 ll phone if toileting is necessary). To meet our child care providers\, c
 lick here.\n\n 	Red group (3 and 4 year olds)\, 2018-2019 — We Are Many
 \, We Are One is a curriculum to introduce young children to age-appropri
 ate diversity concepts in a supportive setting.\n 	Elementary School (gr. 
 K-5)\, participate in the Spring Project during this period.\n 	For middle
  school (gr. 6-8) in 2018-2019\, there is a choice of two different classe
 s:\n\n 	Purple group: Ecojustice (grade 6-8) — This is a project-based p
 rogram that includes projects relating to environmental justice and nature
  study. Projects may include urban/suburban gardening\, creating habitat f
 or non-human organisms\, learning how to cook outdoors\, and studying envi
 ronmental justice heroes like Rachel Carson and Cesar Chavez. There will b
 e different projects each year\, and this class may be repeated.\n 	Purple
  group: Neighboring Faith Communities (mostly grades 7-8) — This middl
 e school group will visit other places of worship\, typically beginning wi
 th another UU congregation\, moving through Jewish and Christian groups\, 
 and ending up with non-Western religions. Participants go on 5-6 field tri
 ps during the year\, and sometimes have guest speakers from other faith tr
 aditions. There will be different field trips each year\, and this class m
 ay be repeated.\n\n\n\n\n
