K-1)\, 2018-2019 — In the fall\, the Creating Home curriculum helps children develop a sense of home. In early winter\, children learn a bout feminist god-images using the story book Hide and Seek with God. La te winter brings the wider religious world with stories from Picture Book World Religions.\n Green group (grades 2-3)\, 2018-2019 — This group b egins with Spirit of Adventure to learn about Unitarian Universalist val ues through fun activities. In early winter\, Timeless Themes presents s tories from the Hebrew Bible (Torah). In late winter\, From Long Ago int roduces stories from other religious traditions.\n Blue group (grades 4-5 )\, 2018-2019 — In the fall\, the group will explore social justice usin g In Our Hands. In early winter\, they will learn more about liberal inte rpretations of Jesus with Kingdom of Equals. In late winter\, the class u ses Greek Myths to delve deeply into a few key myths.\n For middle scho ol (gr. 6-8) in 2018-2019\, there is a choice of two different classes:\n\ n Purple group: Ecojustice (grade 6-8) — This is a project-based progra m that includes projects relating to environmental justice and nature stud y. Projects may include urban/suburban gardening\, creating habitat for no n-human organisms\, learning how to cook outdoors\, and studying environme ntal justice heroes like Rachel Carson and Cesar Chavez. There will be dif ferent projects each year\, and this class may be repeated.\n Purple grou p: Neighboring Faith Communities (mostly grades 7-8) — This middle sch ool group will visit other places of worship\, typically beginning with an other UU congregation\, moving through Jewish and Christian groups\, and e nding up with non-Western religions. Participants go on 5-6 field trips du ring the year\, and sometimes have guest speakers from other faith traditi ons.
