 mer service at Trader Joe's for being so friendly\, helpful\, available\, 
 and expert. So when I had lunch with a Trader Joe's employee\, I took the 
 opportunity to ask some questions about it:\n\nDoes their training emphasi
 ze customer service? (Answer: Yes. They even give their approach a special
  name.)\n\nHow do the managers support them in carrying it out? (Answer: B
 y giving them lots of flexibility about how they spend their shifts.)\n\nW
 hat were they taught? Ah\, the answer to that is a little too long for thi
 s space. But come to this workshop and you'll learn it yourself. We'll see
  how a few tips from TJs make a big difference to the welcome we offer new
 comers to UUCPA\, and in any other community to which we belong.\n\nA ligh
