WHAT IS A PEDIATRIC AND ADOLESCENT GYNECOLOGIST, AND WHAT DO WE DO?

Paula will talk about the issues that she practices and teaches: the importance of adolescent confidentiality, as it relates to contraception and abortion; that menstruation has come out of the closet and into the digital age as a new vital sign; talking to teens and their moms; advocacy for teens with developmental delays and for their parents; birth defects you’ve not heard of; ethical issues around sterilization; and more. She will reflect on how UU Principles inform and are important to her life’s work.

UUCPA member Paula Hillard, M.D., is a Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Stanford. She has practiced and taught pediatric and adolescent Gynecology for 37 years.
