SUMMARY:White Folks Dismantling White Supremacy
DESCRIPTION:White Folks Dismantling White Supremacy  During this meeting\, 
 we will watch and discuss a Peninsula Peace and Justice Center program "Hi
 dden in Plain Sight: Racism\, White Supremacy\, and Far-Right Militancy in
  Law Enforcement."   In this video\, Paul George of PPJC interviews Mich
 ael German\, a former FBI special agent and a current Fellow with the Bren
 nan Center for Justice.   The video publicity says\, “As our nation gr
 apples with how to reimagine public safety in the wake of the protests fol
 lowing the police killing of George Floyd\, it is time to confront and res
 olve the persistent problem of explicit racism in law enforcement.”   
 The video features a special guest appearance by Kristi Iverson!\n\nCo-spo
 nsored by the Action Council and the Adult Religious Education Committee\,
  this study/action group meets twice a month\, on the second and fourth Tu
 esday evenings from 7:15 to 8:45 via Zoom. The second-Tuesday sessions\, l
 ed by Rev. Amy Zucker Morgenstern\, are focused on the series "Seeing Whit
 e" from the podcast Scene on Radio. The fourth-Tuesday sessions\, led by K
 risti Iverson and Susan Owicki\, are focused on action and reflection.\n\n
 We are calling the group "White Folks . . . " because we recognize the nee
 d for white people to do much of the work of dismantling white supremacy. 
 It's also important to have anti-racism learning spaces for white folks\, 
 where they can grapple with new ideas about racism and speak candidly abou
 t their fears and misconceptions. It can be painful for people of color to
  witness these conversations\, so we have created this space apart from th
 e main body of the congregation. That said\, all people of whatever race o
 r background are welcome to attend any or all sessions.\n\nIf you would li
