 nday October 24\, 1:00pm - 2:30pm\n\nWe are pleased to welcome back Julie 
 Lythcott-Haims to UUCPA for a live Zoom talk on her new book\, YOUR TURN: 
 How to be an adult\, a groundbreakingly frank guide to growing up. Filled 
 with great stories\, she offers a guide for anyone wanting to live their b
 est adult life. She speaks directly to the heart and mind of people coming
  into adulthood offering compassion\, personal experience and practical st
 rategies for living a more authentic adulthood. While her talk will focus 
 on young adults\, it is also deeply meaningful to all who love them. She w
 ill read select passages from her book\, after which there will be a q &am
 p\; a session. Our UUCPA bookstore has copies of her book that Julie has g
 raciously signed.\n\nJulie Lythcott-Haims believes in humans and is deeply
  interested in what gets in our way. Her work encompasses writing\, speaki
 ng\, mentoring\, and activism.  She is the New York Times bestselling aut
 hor of the anti-helicopter parenting manifesto How to Raise an Adult which
  gave rise to a popular TED Talk. Her second book is the critically-acclai
 med and award-winning prose poetry memoir Real American\, which illustrate
 s her experience as a Black and biracial person in white spaces. A third b
 ook\, Your Turn: How to Be an Adult\, #YourTurnToAdult offer advice on gro
 wing successfully into adulthood. Julie is a former corporate lawyer and S
 tanford dean\, and she holds a BA from Stanford\, a JD from Harvard\, and 
 an MFA in Writing from California College of the Arts. She currently serve
 s on the boards of Common Sense Media and the Black Women’s Health Imper
 ative\, and on the advisory board of LeanIn.Org and Parents magazine. She 
 lives in Palo Alto\, California with her partner of over thirty years\, th
