Heart and Home Shelter at UUCPA seeks Dinner Coordinators!

The women’s winter shelter will be resident at UUCPA from Feb 21 to April 5 and is in need of volunteers to organize and serve dinner to shelter participants one day a week for those six weeks. Having a designated dinner coordinator is one way we are ensuring the safety of everyone at the shelter, and it’s a chance to offer a kind word to women who could often use one. Dinner coordinators pick one night of the week to volunteer (with a lot of support for trades if you can’t make it). As with any activity in the time of COVID, volunteers should be in good health and prepared to wear an appropriate, well-fitting mask. H+H will provide training in safety, distancing, outdoor dining setup and confidentiality.

Contact volunteers@hhcollab.org for more information!

Other volunteer options: Twice a week, we would love to receive donations of healthy muffins which can serve as grab-and-go breakfasts for the women while they are away from the shelter during the day. We usually have muffin drop-off during early evening at the shelter on Wednesdays and Sundays. See H+H: Evenings at Unitarian Universalist to volunteer to make muffins, or for other volunteer jobs, such as Saturday laundry (bedding, towels).
