New (rescheduled) ARE Class Added – End of Life Options, November 18

End of Life Options,  the ARE class on End of Life Options, which had to be canceled last spring has been re-scheduled for November 18 from 12:30 to 2:00 in the Fireside Room.

The California End of Life Options Act specifies that mentally capable adults who have six months or less to live can request a doctor’s prescription for medication that they could decide to take in their final days or weeks, in order to end unbearable suffering and to die peacefully. During this ARE class, obstetrician/gynecologist Susan Hughmanick, MD will explain the provisions of this law and the circumstances under which it may be utilized. Because she values the availability of this choice for patients, Dr. Hughmanick volunteers her time to give presentations to community groups in association with the non-profit organization Compassion & Choices.
