Since several of our Action Council justice projects have been canceled due to the Covid-19 shelter-in-place orders, the Council voted on May 4 to add a new justice project for the month of May (and perhaps beyond), to help RV dwellers in Mountain View with food and basic necessities. The organization spearheading this effort is the Reach Potential Movement.
During this extremely challenging time, the Reach Potential
Movement will be focused exclusively on providing food, shelter, social
services, and other necessities of life for the economically disadvantaged and
otherwise needy individuals, in accordance with the county and state
shelter-in-place requirements.
In order to carry out this unusually difficult task RPM continues to need
donations of food and other necessities, financial donations, and volunteers to
help with distribution (while following the social distancing protocol’s). If
you are not in the at-risk population and can comply with the social-distancing
guidelines, you can fill out a volunteer form on the RPM website: https://www.reachpotential.org/
You can also donate funds at this same web address. If you would prefer
to contribute food or other necessities, please contact Dave Joki for
instructions.
Thank you in advance for helping out less fortunate members of our wider community.
