Going Where Justice Calls

For eighty years, the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC) has sought out the places where disaster, war, climate change, and oppression are doing their worst, from Nazi-occupied Europe to earthquake-ravaged Haiti, restaurant kitchens filled with exploited workers in the United States and refugee camps filled with the Rohingya in Myanmar. Wherever it goes, the UUSC follows the leadership of grassroots partners who are pressing for human rights with “unreasonable courage.” It channels our goodwill, political power, expertise, and funds to save lives and make a kinder, more just world.

Today’s service is brought to us by the UUSC, which is an independent organization, affiliated with the Unitarian Universalist Association but funded, crucially, by the individual memberships of Unitarian Universalists like us. Come be inspired and filled with hope by the stories its leaders have to tell us.

  • By educating and organizing Latino communities across Georgia, UUSC partner the Georgia Latino Alliance for Human Rights (GLAHR) has established a powerful network of informed leaders, engaged community members, and local committees that combat racial discrimination, economic injustice, and state-inflicted violence, including detentions, deportations, and police abuse.
