The great Unitarian Universalist theologian, James Luther Adams, articulated five guiding principles (“Five Smooth Stones”) for liberal religion. In this first of a series, we’ll look at the profoundly transformative idea that truth continues to be revealed and that the future therefore holds more to discover. Although he wrote the essay 80 years ago, it offers shrewd insight about the climate crisis we now face, and a blessing for those who will be participating in the Global Climate Strike on Friday, September 20.

Worship Leader: Rev. Amy Zucker Morgenstern

The Justice Partner for September, as chosen by the congregation at the annual meeting, is Hotel de Zink.  UUCPA hosts the Hotel de Zink homeless shelter in September and has done so for many years.  On Sunday, Sept 15, Edie Keating will speak in both services about Hotel de Zink, and the entire offering collection that day will be donated to them.  If you miss the service on Sept 15, you may make a donation at the Action Council table on any Sunday in September or in the office.  Please make checks payable to UUCPA and put “Justice Partner” in the memo line.  UUCPA is proud to support such a valuable community organization.
