Stewards of the Month – January 2017

Congratulations and thank you to our Stewards of the Month for January, OWL coordinators Alyssa Erickson and Maribea Berry! Our Whole Lives (OWL) sexuality education serves our own families and the wider community at a time when sex ed that is fact-based, sex-positive, and affirming of diversity is needed more than ever. This year we are offering a whopping five sections: grades K-1, 4-6, 8-10, and two of 7-9. Rev. Dan Harper and other staff rely heavily on Alyssa and Maribea’s leadership to run this important program.

So many other people have done so much to make UUCPA go this month!

Marilyn Stoddard for organizing the Treasures Sale and volunteers Edith Drewek, Ann Hepenstal, Hannah Slocum, Donna Aronson, Nancy Neff, and Fran Perry, and Dora Fishman and Erin Fishman for not only helping with the setup and staffing the sale, but taking items for sale elsewhere at the end of the day.

Kristi Iverson and Dick Duda for bringing the Multifaith Voices for Peace and Justice January 19 Interfaith Service of Concern and Commitment to UUCPA, Bill Hilton for staffing sound, and everyone in the Adult Choir for singing at this special service.

Suzanne Sublette for so much help with the canvass, Canvass Committee co-chairs David Chen and Brooke Bishara, and committee members Linda Henigin, John Pierce, Fred Buelow, Armand Schwartz, Elaine Dodd, Pa- mela Schure, Jeb Eddy, and Joe Bailey.

John Indergand for thought-provoking quotes for the order of service.

Dick Clark and his proof reader, Glenda Jones, for tireless, reliable work editing The Bulletin.

Esa Jacobi, Jeralyn Moran, Robert Neff, Karen Skold, and leaders Matthew Rosin and Melissa Thomson for launching the By Your Side Singers pastoral care choir, and also Jenny Robertson and Barbara Symonds who have sung in rehearsals.

And, coming back around to where we started, all of the OWL teachers: in grades K-1 Beth Nord, Lisa Helmonds, Kris Geering, and Tom Morgan, in grades 4-6 Maribea Berry, Stewart Cobb, Kate Kramer, and Eric Bier, in grades 7-9 Amy Choate, Sally Ahnger, Jeff Bailey, Tyler Kochel, Edie Keating, Heather Chen, Miriam Pokharel-Wood, Emily Drew-Moyer, and Esa Jacobi, in grades 10-12 Esa Jacobi along with Dan Harper, and leading the parent discussion for grades 7-9, Kevin Bourrillion.
