UUA Update: Jan 14-21 Week of Action

Dear committed UU leader,

In this new year, the call for Unitarian Universalists to take action for justice is as loud as ever. Across the country people of faith and conscience are joining in a Week of Action leading up to the inauguration of Donald Trump. We hope every Unitarian Universalist will find a way to publicly show their values during this historic moment, when fear and hate are so present in our communities. Here are a few key resources to help your congregation show the love and spread the UU message of hope, caring, dignity and justice, wherever you are:

Week of Action Page – Your one-stop-shop for links to events and opportunities going on around the country. Pay attention to the January 14 National Day of Action to Protect Immigrants, Muslims and Refugees, the start of Standing on the Side of Love’s 30 Days of Love on January 16, and the Women’s March on Washington on January 21, with sister marches in nearly every state. If you’re in the DC area, visit the J21 Teach-In at All Souls Church Unitarian.

Show the Love Map – When you plan vigils, events, projects, and actions to show the love post-election, or when UU’s gather to attend another Week of Action event, add these to the map and watch our faith movement grow.

Visit uua.org/showthelove to find all these links and more, including a resource page and regular updates.

And remember to share about your Week of Action online with the hashtag #showthelove, because the world needs us to lend our voice to the chorus that defies hate and champions justice. We’ll see you out there!

In faith,
Your friendly staff at the Unitarian Universalist Association
