UUCPA is hiring!

Dear UUCPA members and friends,

If you have a friend or neighbor who might be a good fit for our Membership position, please spread the word! (We do not hire members of the congregation.)

Position available: Membership and Engagement Coordinator (15 hours/week)

The Membership and Engagement Coordinator promotes congregation-wide participation in guiding attendees into membership, and newcomers and new members into greater engagement in congregational life. One-third of the position is direct integration of newcomers/new members, and two-thirds is training and supporting volunteers, including the board, in this initiative, and supporting the infrastructure of member engagement. At the moment, all activities are online only. As we return to in-person activities, the job will entail both an online and an in-person presence, so we are only considering candidates who live in the area, or will by the end of the summer.

Responsibilities: Be a prominent and effective support/point of first contact for newcomers, especially on Sunday mornings; train volunteers in membership skills; pass gathered information promptly to administrative staff.

Essential qualifications: Personal warmth and a friendly, open manner; skill in interpersonal relations and group dynamics; commitment to welcoming individuals of diverse backgrounds; commitment to growing the congregation; self-motivation, good organization, detail orientation, ability to follow through with and delegate responsibilities; collegial and collaborative approach; confident sense of personal authority; clear written and spoken English; knowledge of, or willingness and ability to learn: Word, Zoom, Excel, Google Drive, Realm, WordPress, various social media interfaces. Desirable qualifications: Experience with Unitarian Universalism, in a faith community, and/or as a membership professional/volunteer.

Setting: UUCPA is a supportive environment with talented, hardworking lay leaders. Staff are well-established—most have been at UUCPA for ten or more years—and have a record of welcoming new staff members warmly.

Position open immediately and until filled. Fifteen hours a week, of which three must be 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Sundays; other hours negotiable. Salary is $18,582 – $21,300, depending on experience, in line with UUA recommendations; additional assistance with health coverage costs. The MEC will report to the Parish Minister.

Please send resume and two references to Rev. Amy Zucker Morgenstern, parishmin@uucpa.org. Questions and queries welcome. Letter of interest optional.
