An Autumn Equinox Meal Together
On Tuesday, September 22, 2026, the day and night are equally short. The Autumn
Equinox marks the beginning of autumn. This year, instead of holding a ritual, we’d like to mark the moment by sharing a simple meal together around a bonfire.
We’ll gather our chairs around the firepit at 6 pm on the patio. There will be vegan chili (gf), cheese, chips and sticks to cook food over the fire. As the fire offers coals, we’ll break out the marshmallows.
An optional family craft will be available to the side.
No need to bring anything other than yourselves. If you like, bring some fire-stick food (hot dogs?) or a favorite personal nibble. If you like, bring a natural item of the season you find outside: a stick, a pinecone, a leaf, a sprig of berries, a fruit.
We look forward to sharing a meal with you,
Rebecca Shapley and
Edie Keating
